On July 20, 2008 ISKA President Cory Schafer announced that he has named Jesse Finney as the ISKA Midwest Director of Promotions. In this position he will work with regional promoters in the logistics of full-service event promotion and sanctioning. Along with this will be Shamrock Promotions Sanction Plus Program, that helps promoters with all sanctioning, ring/cage rental, and all other aspects of the event.

Engel Looking To Avenge Only Loss On Aug 22
After a disappointing lose due to an eye injury on March 8, 2008. Kevin has underwent eye surgery and it is healed up. He is now focused on beating the only person to have a win against him, Mike Word. This will be held on Aug 22 at the Viking Hotel. Engel has also changed trainers since this loss.
He is now training with Jack Lowe in Youngstown, OH. Lowe is the trainer of World Champion Kelly Pavlik. Engel will continue to train with lowe and will leave St. Louis for 4 weeks before every fight and live in Youngstown to train. Buy Tickets Now!
Finney Back In The Ring To Further MMA Career
Jesse Finney is back in the ring on Aug 22nd at the Viking Hotel to add another victory on his already undefeated record. Also on the card is Kevin Engel who is taking on the only person to ever beat him, Mike Word. Rocky Vercher will also be in action taking on Granite City product Sal Woods. Another one of Steve Knogl’s fights will be his brother, Dave Knogl. He is taking on BJJ artist James Wade. In the other boxing matchs will be Ryan Coyne taking on Phillip Jewell. Donahue Shines In First MMA Match At Battles For Fame
The Battles for Fame have put out some great fights and fighters over the last year. One in preticular is Jimmy Donahue who has fought on a number of these events. He has done boxing and kickboxing on previous ones. Now he is moving on to MMA. In his first MMA fight, June 21st, Donahue was impressive to say the least. He used his boxing and kickboxing stills early and firsting with a submission win in the 2st round. Here are the result from that night:
